How much vegetation have you got? (2)

enzymes do the protein march
hm baa hm baa hm baa hm baa
enzymes do the protein march

How much vegetation have you got?
not a thing uppermost in the minds of girls.
Yet what a desert we create
in the name of the great exfoliate.
on pain of dermal aggravation
she opts for female sanitation.
oh animal kingdom begins here,
vegetable kingdom begins here.
oh animal kingdom begins here,
vegetable kingdom begins here.

How much vegetation have you got?
slack mi fatty bastis full of beasts
enzymes do the protein march...

An ecosystem much alive
attacked by corporate hygiene,
the great Brillo of modern life
rape razing in the name of clean.
oh animal kingdom begins here,
vegetable kingdom begins here.
Animal kingdom begins here,
vegetable kingdom begins here.

Mary Houdini (2)

my name is Mary Houdini
I am an escapologist.
quick limbed and versatile.
bet your life can escape from anything
my name is Mary Houdini

there she was, now she's not
there she was, now she's not
quick as a flash in a frying pan.

my name is Mary Houdini...

the technology
of escapology
is something difficult & not for the novice
La Houdini's escapability
thrills the crowd
with its impossibility-

la la La Houdini, la la La Houdini, la la La Houdini,

Balloon girl
(2)

She went a walking down the street,
she saw the ground beneath her feet,
she heard the ground begin to hum
sounds like a ringing singing song.
SOUNDS like a ringing singing SONG *4
And then she looked from LEFT to RIGHT,
But there was nobody in sight,
Save but a humming in the ears,
But it is not what it appears.
SOUNDS like a ringing SINGING song *4
And then the ground begins to swell,
And then herself she swells as well,
She blew up, like a fatted Kite,
And flitted far away from sight.
SOUNDS like a RINGING SINGING SONG

Cactus (2)

She is blind to him.
BAD IS BAD IS
She don't know.
SHE is blind to him
saving her best for
His pleasure
She's a bind to him
SHE saw with clearer
eyes ONCE
She is blind to HIM
Touching the hem of
his fancy

Incineration (2)

Do you fell like a street caress
"You're nice, you've got a nice face
GIRL"

Wether you do
Wether or not
That's what you get
that's what you get

Do you wear a propriety frock?
Do you wear it?
In the road?
Wether you do
Wether or not
your face is naked
or is it clothed

MAKES NO DIFERENCE
MAKES NO DIFERENCE

A street caress
That's what the dwarf said
Wether you do
Wether or not
your face is naked
or is it clothed

MAKES NO DIFERENCE
IN THE ROAD

GO
DWARF
He said to me
DWARF
DWARF
DWARF
OH DWARF

Big pot (2)

SEEM LIKE WE'RE STILL IN THE KITCHEN
A PEASE- BROTH BROUGHT TO BOIL
STUCK IN A TERMINAL STIR
CHUCKING IT ALL IN THE AIR
BUT THE SKY DON'T THROW IT BACK
NO THE SKY DON'T THROW IT BACK
SUN'S FACE IS OIL, SUN'S FACE IS BLACK
SUN'S FACE IS OIL, SUN'S FACE IS OIL
WHAT IS IT WEIGHS ON YOUR BRAIN-BOX
IS IT THE CLOSENESS OF WEATHER
OR ARE YOU ALLERGIC TO THE GARBAGE
HANKERING AFTER ESCAPE ROUTES
EVERYONE'S FRANTICALLY COOKING
EVERYONE'S FRANTICALLY COOKING
SUN'S FACE IS OIL, SUN'S FACE IS BLACK
SUN'S FACE IS OIL, SUN'S FACE IS BLACK
MEASURED PER METRE WE'RE DONE FOR
CUBITS OF DROSS UPON EACH HEAD

I'M WEARING A HAT
THAT REACHES THROUGH OZONE

The rain it raineth (2)

the rain it raineth on the just,
and also on the unjust fella.
but more upon the just because
the unjust steals the just's umbrella

the justly man is thus condemned,
attrition and a life of constant rain.
the unjust man is not disturbed
for one man's loss another's natural gain.

Oh woe, oh woe is he,
Oh woe, oh woe is he, oh woe.

the justly man will thus erode
and unjust men the world will overrun
there'll be no more of charity
and rainclouds shall pile up across the sun

Oh woe, oh woe is he,
Oh woe, oh woe is he, oh woe.

Words for 1st verse by Charles Baron Bowen

RAISE
RAISE YOUR HANDS
TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW
I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR ALL OF IT
I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ALL OF IT
TELL ME ALL YOUR SECRETS
TELL ME ALL YOUR SECRET THINGS
ALL OF THEM
AND WE SHALL HAVE
ACCUMULATION
SWAMP THE LAND
A COLLECTIVISATION
POOL YOUR RESOURCES
TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW
SOMEONE'S GOT TO BEGIN
THAT I MAY MAKE
A COLLECTION
AN ICE CREAM CONFECTION
OF ALL THESE THINGS
ONE BY ONE
BY ONE BY ONE

New shoots
(4)

Ever dream a green so dark,
so nice and lush?

New shoots for you to eat.
......
My home place is a dump site dump
New shoots for you to eat.
My home place is a field
that's scored with scars
New shoots for you to eat.
New shoots for you to eat.
Ever seen a land where the air
is thinned with ashes?
New shoots for you to eat.
My home place is a yellow cake of earth
New shoots for you to eat.
New shoots for you to eat.

Scottish block (4)

Some friend a while went underground,
thought he could disappear    just so
Lived all his days with curtains drawn
lay low, took the bins out dead of night.
Thought he could rely on some close community
community in the close     but no
Some friend a while went underground,
thought he could disappear    just so

Some friend a while went underground,
thought he could disappear    just so

shopped by a woman on the block to the
men from the district tax invasion corps
(irregularities not un noticed,
some peculiar goings on)
some friends a while went underground
thought he could disappear    just so

some friends a while went underground
thought he could disappear    just so
Wished to be lost in a Scottish block
to duck beneath and pay no tax,
yet see the day, still see the day
working always on the black.
Some friends a while went underground
thought he could disappear    just so

John Henry (4)

John Henry when he was a baby,
sitting on his mothers knee,
saw a hammer and a little piece of steel
said 'hammer 'll be the death of me,
Lord, hammer 'll be the death of me.'

Well now some say he was born down in Texas
some say he was born in Maine,
well I don't give a damn where that
poor boy was born,
Leader of a steel driving chain gang,
leader of a steel driving gang.

Now the captain said to John Henry
'I'm gonna bring that steel drill round
gonna bring that steel drill out of on the job.
Whop all that steel on down
Lord, whop all that steel on down.'

John Henry said to his shaker,
'now shaker, why don't you sing,
'cause I'm bringing twelve pounds
from my hips on down,
Listen to that cold steel ring
Lord listen to that cold steel ring.'

John Henry said to his captain,
'A man ain't nothing but a man,
gonna beat that steam drill
out on the job
or I'll die with my hammer in my hand
Lord die with my hammer in my hand.'

John Henry hammered on the mountain
till his hammer was striking fire.
He drove so hard, he broke his poor heart,
Laid down his hammer and he died
Lord, laid down his hammer and he died.

Traditionnaly John Henry was the champion steel driver with the C&O railroad in West Virginia.
In the 1870's the first mechanical steam drill appeared. In a match between the machine and John Henry, he won, but he died in the attempt.
The original tune is derived from a Scots ballad, 'Lass of Roch Royal'.

Beautiful (4)

it had been a hot day   we were in some southern place   and we'd been walking for miles from that town to this place   when we got to the town   it was Sunday there was a festival   we went into the church   because it was big   and cool and there she was   she was a triangle   she was triangular   her head was a pinhead   her hair was black laquered and her cream cheeks cream
Her dress was crusty with flowers   she was lit by a thousand lights   plastic candles glinting about her base   she had no arms or legs   she was robed from neck to the ground   fresh paint on her oh so glossy face   and she was very very beautiful, she was very very beautiful, very very beautiful, she was very very beautiful…

it had been so hot that day   the sun had got to my head   and I was sick and crushed to look at her   I was sick and cried to look at her   My tears were nearly catholic   Her dress was crusty wtih flowers   her hands were painted on her face was super real.
She was stiff   she was stiff with religious virtue   she was stiff with the thoughts of the watchers buzzing a furious field about her head   Her dress was crusty with flowers   she was lit by a thousand lights   she was triangular   as wide   as wide   Her head was a pin head   atop a radar station
All signals on and jamming   She was so wide   you could not push her over   I had to fight her down she was so strong   and she was very very beautiful, she was very very beautiful, very very beautiful, she was very very beautiful, very very heavy, very very rigid, very very plastic, very very heavy.

god she was heavy   so heavy   took twelve men to lift her   twelve men to shift her   from one side of the church to the square.   We could only stand and watch   from the thickest part of the crowd   for I had sunstroke and believed it   and there were the women in black   and there were the men in suits   all eyes all eyes all eyes   (they knew a thing or two, these master-craftsmen builders) she was some heat conductor, lit by a thousand plastic lights   crush of women pressing   all the lips were moving   I just stood I could not move   Her dress was crusty with flowers   you could not push her over   her base was much too wide   and she was very very beautiful, very very beautiful, very very beautiful, she was very very beautiful, very very heavy, very very rigid, very very plastic, very very heavy.

Frock (4)

What did you see dear, what did you do?
were there others dressed like you?
Though you set no sights at all
were you lonely by the wall?
were you lonely by the wall?

I made a dress of silver wire
in the Laura Ashley years
scared them away with prickly charm
No they did not dance with me
no they did not dance
with me

ah my hinny
ah my hinny
ah my hinny
ah my hinny
